I'm getting excited about this!

I will try to be responsible and NOT turn this blog into wedding central, but I have just spent the last hour going through wedding magazines (something that I have NEVER encountered before) ripping out pages in order to prepare My Wedding Proposal for Geoff.
He had been AMAZING about letting me girl out on this. I have been asking him all of these totally random questions about what he'd like, and this weekend he told me that I can make this the day that I picture in my head.
Which honestly, is incredible and makes me love him EVEN MORE.
So what I told him I'd do, was put together a visual proposal so he can see what I am thinking.
Which will give him some veto chances in case he hates something, AND allows me to CRAFT A WEDDING LOOK BOOK.

Which right now is blowing my mind.
I've been quietly keeping some stuff on the computer as I haphazardly browse around online while I eat breakfast, and just now went though some of it to clear out some of the random "what was I thinking" stuff.

There wasn't a lot of those, but some definite keepers!
Check it out.

I LOVE that RSVP card, I think I saw it on etsy. So funny!

I want to DIY as much of this wedding as I can, I can't see the point of spending THOUSANDS of dollars and a day that will hurtle by.
That makes no sense to me.

Plus I know me some crafty gals, so I am hoping to rope them into helping out!
(you know who you are)

I am going to draw up an illustration for our invites, and I've pretty much designed my dress.
I am making our rings, and I like the idea of cupcakes [that we can certainly make ourselves and freeze before hand.]
Plus we are both so low key that some crazy, fancy affair would be totally random and weird I think.

I am even considering just wearing birkenstocks.
Although I have seen some really cute shoes about lately, so that may change!

I am coveting again

I try not to, but there are so many lovely things out there right now!
I was turned on to the Levi's website last week from another blog that I was perusing (I am sorry, but I can't remember which one) it was a good blog though.
Anyway, right now I wish I could go shopping for these!

And it doesn't look particularly warm, but I really want to wear this parka.
Everyday. Right now.

Oh sigh.
One day.

I was also looking at boots online, but I haven't seen anything that SCREAMS at me yet, and I am being very thrifty right now. So it really is better if I don't look.

And I would make myself some fun new clothes except that my sewing machine IS NOT WORKING.
Which stresses me out a great deal. Particularly since I have Bag Ideas.
And Dress Ideas.
And Cute Top Ideas.
And a Winter Coat to make.

Ugh.

rearranging!

I've been a busy little bee this week, more so than usual since I have been moving furniture around the apartment before and after work.
Many changes have been happening here at Casa Janamade. First of all was the Armoire Into the Bedroom move. Which I don't have any pictures of, but will certainly get taken and posted when my plans for that room have come entirely to fruition.
And oh there are plans!
Secondly was the BBQ station! Our wonderful landlord was cleaning out her storage shed and GAVE us a brand new mini BBQ still in the box. Never opened.
So I set up this little baby right here.

We haven't tried it out yet (need to get propane first) but it's already awesome.
And we're getting some wetter weather heading our way, so I started looking at BBQ covers. Which are flipping expensive.
So I MADE this one out of a tarp and some duct tape.
Cool yes?

And then I also went to Ikea (the love affair continues!) for this new shelf unit for the bathroom, which is really the only room in the apartment that doesn't see too much love.

We hadn't done anything to it at all since we moved in besides the usual things that happen in bathrooms.

You know.

Well that is all about to change! Especially while I am on HOME DECORATION KICK 2008.
Stay tuned!

the verdict is in,

I have a NEW LIST of food allergies.
Yep! And super excited about it.
-chocolate (don't even get me started)
-sugar
-wheat
-egg whites (yolks seem to be fine, but seriously)
-peanuts
-corn
-cauliflower
-alcohol
-tuna (this one is a whatever for me, I don't eat tuna anyway)

These are added to the already existing dairy and nightshade allergy we've been working with for the last 4 years.
What are nightshades you ask??
-tomatoes
-potatoes
-chilis and peppers
-paprika
-eggplant

You may be asking yourself right now "what the HELL can she eat then??"
I ask myself a similar question pretty regularly right now.
However it's not so bad.
For breakfast I am eating steel cut oats with apple sauce, flax seeds and sliced almonds, which is pretty luxurious actually.
And dinner is a straightforward stirfry or something like that.
It's just lunch and snacks that are getting to me right now.
Fruits and veggies are still okay, I just had a really REALLY delicious local nectarine with breakfast, and we're going to start juicing again.

It's just an adjustment.

In other news, we've caught the first couple of episodes of the New 90210 (I know, I understand your chagrin) and I have to say that Naomi's nose is the best actor on the show.
Watch 10 minutes of it and you'll see what I mean.
HILARIOUS!
she looks like this (for the most part)

And I am sorry, but there is NO WAY that girl is in high school.
I don't know who they think they are kidding.

What do you think?

I have been a bad little jeweller lately.
My day job has been taking up a lot more of my time that I expected and I have had NO energy to do anything once I get home lately.

Which is bad.

Because Out of Hand is only 2 months away and I don't have ANY stock ready.

You can't hear it, but I am screaming.

Anyway, now that I've got myself under control.
Ahem!

I whipped up these guys this morning.

I had drawn them up ages ago, maybe even in years ago, but had never tried a pair.
But this morning while I was getting dressed I realized that I wanted hoop earrings.
I know, I don't have any hoop earrings, what is THAT?
Well, I do now and I really like them so far.
They are super light weight and nice and clean looking I think.
What do you think?

I think that I might do up another pair of larger GOLD ones at some point, and I can definitely do these in a larger silver pair as well.
So I pose this question to you:
Should I develop these earrings for retail?

I am all ears!
